Executive Summary: Rebekah Jean Studio
Rebekah Jean Studio’s mission statement is: To give quality service and quality work to each and every customer. To truly fulfill the needs of my customers until they are both happy and satisfied. To artistically create an image that my customer will cherish for a lifetime.
Within a year, Rebekah Jean Studio will be regarded as a reputable photography studio servicing families and local small businesses. This will be measured by 20% of the customers photographed scheduling a second shoot, a maintained 90% satisfactory rating by the top local review sites such as Yelp and Google Places, customer satisfaction surveys, and a Facebook customer following of 5%. This will be attainable by actively engaging previous customers to encourage 80% of those that normally get annual family photos. This will be done by creating a customer data base which will allow RJS to contact clients at regularly scheduled intervals. At the end of three years Rebekah Jean Studio plans to have opened up two more locations and hired on an additional six photographers with localized specializations such as a Hispanic oriented target market.
Rebekah Jean Studio will operate its business at A1 Plaza located at 8034 Culebra Rd, San Antonio, TX 78251. The space is 800sqft and rents for $1,200 a month with a yearly lease. RJS will be part of 40 other businesses such as a bridal store, hair salon, and an interior design workroom. Parking is a leveled parking lot with easy access on and off the premises; according to San Antonio traffic statistics, there is about 100,000 cars that pass daily. The plaza is on a corner lot with access to two streets at a traffic light. The plaza is surrounded by high end apartment complexes and middle class housing. There are two strip malls located directly across the street that offer various service related business, retail, and restaurants.
Rebekah Jean Studio will require a brick and motor presence. RJS will create an atmosphere like none other for the photography studio. The studio will have a waiting area/reception area, an office to do editing, and a studio room. In the waiting area there will be a red couch and a coffee table with books for viewing of previous shoots (one for senior portraits, one for newborns, and one for weddings.) There will be pictures of at least a 16X20 size hanging on the wall with Luxe frames from witch the customer can pick out to order. RJS will also have metal hangings and canvas prints in order for customers to choose what they would like to have their prints on. The waiting area will be decorated in gypsy/shabby chic style. Reclaimed vintage is in now and RJS will create that in the studio. RJS will be fun, a place where people wouldn’t mind coming to hang out. RJS realizes how big a photo shoot is to a family, and also how much of a headache it is. RJS wants the studio to be an inviting place. From the moment a client steps into the studio the client will be impressed, and think “I have to hire RJS as my photographer.”
The primary revenue source for Rebekah Jean Studio will be photography services rendered by Rebekah Wavle. Rebekah Jean Studio will provide both in studio photography (portraits) and onsite photography for events such as weddings, corporate events, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, sweet sixteen parties, and other major gatherings. The secondary stream of income will be derived from the sale of developed prints and framing services, which will be provided within Rebekah Jean Studio. In addition to photography services Rebekah Jean Studio will run a rental program to other artist for the use of one of the studio bays.
Rebekah Jean Studio is receiving a grant from the VA Vocational Rehab that will enable RJS to obtain necessary equipment to fully operate a brick and mortar business. The grant amount is $25,000 and will sufficiently cover an additional camera, studio props, lenses, backdrops, hanging system for backdrops, photo scanner, photo printer, photo paper, additional computer, furniture for reception area, and photo books to display to potential clients. RJS seeks a small business loan for $1,200 x 3 months plus deposit to secure a 900sqft rental property for a total of $4,800 plus $2,000 for capitol totaling $6,800.
